Madi's Graduation

wooooohooooo! I'm finally blogging all the madness that has happened this past month! ( month and a half?) Trips to Utah, Washington and San Antonio will take over for a bit. Starting out of order (what? who am I? I know. I'm progressing) Madison's Graduation!
Yes. This was outside the Alamo dome. Madison's graduation was a LOT like mine so I was ready for this one! Large graduating classes in large buildings: TEXAS STYLE. Her class was made up of some 700 or so people. We had to sit on the second level so I went ahead and put some arrows in there for good measure. You know, so you could find her easily.
If you've ever been to a large graduation you know the drill. A speech from a valedictorian going to an Ivy League, a few teachers telling everyone this was a great experience but real life and real work start after this moment, and many jokes about crushing student loan debt. Ah yes, this was all familiar and comforting to my ears and took me right back to high school graduation. Also, watching the jumbo screen for your graduate!
Miss Smartie graduated with Honors! So proud of that goob face. And this ^^ was us trying to exit the dome. Nightmares. I felt like I was in a herd of cattle. We walked around the outside for about an hour trying to find each other and it was about 100 degrees...  On the plus side, they sold snacks during the graduation!! so I made my way downstairs about half way through and picked up some popcorn ;) one of the best treats in the world..

Heather and Madi lookin spiffy!
Madi is applying to BYUI for winter track and I'm SO excited for her!! I LOVED the time I spent on the BYU-I campus and for all the fun experiences she will have up there! We don't come from a family where everyone goes to BYU or BYUI so I feel we share this special bond ;)
We celebrated that night with family, friends and delicious food. I tell you what, San Antonio is HOT. Hotter than Dallas ( I SAID IT) and that's saying something. The people make up for it by being a little more fun, a little more crazy and a bunch sweeter.
James Avery ^^ The trend of the south. Wearing your James Avery out west at school made you immediate friends with other southerners. You will spot a girl with a James Avery ring from across the room and have an instant connection.
I tried to keep it short and sweet here on the writing side but I had such a blast spending this weekend with my little cousin and I could not be more proud of her! She is one smart cookie and she's working till next year so she can pay her own way to school in January. What a rock-star. I love you Madi squirrel!

Peach Palette Swatches & Review

Hey there! May's #monthlymakeupinspo is all about grabbing the soaking in the last parts of spring and I thought why not review the Too Faced Peach Palette while we're at it? ( I know. Two makeup posts in a row. CRAZY.) I'll also link the other products at the end of the post!

So if you are part of the *makeup world* ( aka you stalk all sorts of brands and hoard beauty products) you've probably heard of the peach palette. It smells like peaches ( IT REALLY DOES) and it has 18 gorgeous shades.
The hype is real for this product.
It sells out of the sephora and ulta website in 5 minutes. It flies of the shelf and they're currently restocking. I had to stalk this baby to get one and there were 2 left. I saw the other lucky lady clutching hers in sephora. I'm talking iron grip.
Here's the skinny :
+ You can buy it at Sephora, Ulta and the Too Faced Website *
+ They retail for $49.00
+ 18 Shades
+ Limited edition
+ Mix of mattes, shimmers and satins
+ Smells like Peaches (or peach rings?)
+ Same size as the classic chocolate bar and semi chocolate bar palettes
*when they come back in stock

Do I like this palette? OH YES. Is it worth it? Well, that's up to you. I think so. It has become one of my most used palettes even though I don't use all the shades. It has a nice mix of every day and glam and only one shade contains chunky glitter. aka the enemy.
Like most Too Faced eyeshadow products they are VERY bendable which is a big YES (or YAASSSSS) when it comes to shadows. There is nothing worse than a chunky, unblendable shadow.
There is a small amount of fallout, but not as much as say, the lorac palettes.

On to swatches!
Admittedly not my best swatches. Nothing says beauty like a creepy view of my gumby arms, amirite?

SO there you go, a little review and some swatches. If you think this palette might be for you I suggest you stalk too faced and wait for the next release!

Here are the rest of the products!
Nyx Green Color Corrector Concealer in a Jar
ELF Shimmering Facial Whip
Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Peach me Love
Too Faced Teddy Bear Blush Brush
ABH Single Shadow, Morphe Single Shadow
Becca Luminous Blush in Snapdragon
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Tulip

Classic Soft Bridal Makeup

Hey all! If you've been following me on Instagram you've seen my monthly makeup inspirations (aka #monthlymakeupinspo) where I highlight certain products that I feel fit the month because of season, holiday, ect. This months is focused on a soft classic bridal look because

1. April is my wedding month.
    and
2. My best friend Mckenzie is also getting married at the end of this month!

I have the great honor of getting to do her makeup for the big day so I'm in practice mode for the next few weeks. (If you'd like to volunteer to come over and lend me your face, please send me a message!) This is the first look I've tried out because it's probably the most sought after look for a mix of glam and classic.

Below are pictures of the look I completed with some of the products featured in this months inspo, what those products are and what products were used to achieve this look!
Let's talk products! In this months inspiration  picture you will find:
Red Cherry Lashes #217 //  NYX HD Concealer  //  MAC lipstick in Modesty // Dinair Airbrush Foundation //  Bobbi Brown Blush in Tawny // Chloe Perfume // Love sweet Love Perfume // Becca x Jaclyn Hill highlighter in Champagne Pop // OPI polish in Samoan Sand // Mac Fix + //
Shadows Listed Below
Shadows (Left to Right) :
Anastasia Beverly Hills Vanilla // Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream // Morphe ES76 Pink Moscato //
Makeup Geek Glamorous // MAC Swiss Chocolate // Makeup Geek Mocha //
Eyes:
+ Prime with Urban Decay primer in Eden. Then set primer right away with the shade Cream. I apply it to my whole lid for a smooth and clean base for blending. ( and to cover the discoloration on my eyelids!)
+ Apply Makeup Geek Créme Brulee to the crease. Start with minimal product and continue to go over it to build intensity.
+ Then apply Mac Swiss Chocolate to the outer V and inner crease till the middle of the eye. Apply Luscious (from the too faced sweet peach palette) and Morphe Pink Moscato to the lid. (just pink moscato works just as well, just spray with fix plus for added intensity)
+ Elf liner in Black to the upper lid,  apply a light layer of mascara then pop on Red Cherry lashes on 217.
Face:
Maybelline Matte and Poreless foundation // Nyx Dark Circle Concealer  //  NYX Concealer in a Jar in Green // NYX HD Concealer // Smashbox Contour Sticks // Kat Von D Light and Shade Palette // RCMA No Color Powder // Too Faced Bronzers in Chocolate Soleil and Sun Bunny // Mac Fix + //
Feather Brows:
Mac Modesty on the lips and Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne pop as a highlight! If you have this highlight you know how addicting the peachy gold tone can be. It's hard to reach for another highlighter.

I hope this little bridal look gives you some inspiration, or at least entertained you for a few minutes ;) Feel free to shoot me a message with any questions you have.
I am so in love with weddings (the planning, the pictures, the makeup, the flowers, the love!) and I'm so glad I got to do a little something to celebrate this special month. I hope to do a few more makeup things in the upcoming future. Thanks for stopping by!
xoxo

PS: How gorgeous is my BFF Kenz?! I can't wait for her big day!!
