Reasons NOT to cut your own bangs and Easter Sunday

So two years ago I had Easter with my the Borg Family, last year in Provo with Mckenzie and this year in Rexburg, Idaho! Luckily, It was beautiful out that day.Minus the fact that I now have bangs....which I explain and the bottom of the post.
Had a lovely day at church with these ladies! My roommies are beautiful! and weird...
This is Bryndee just being Bryndee. She was 19 so we let it go...
And Adri just being Adri....but she's NOT 19 yet so we let that go too.. ;)
We spent the rest of the day making easter dinner and spending time in porter park playing frisbee. It was a beautiful day and I have to say I have never been a huge fan of Easter before but It has grown on me a lot more because I'm grateful for my Savior.

So I've avoided the subject but you may (or may not which would be nice) have noticed I now have bangs. Believe it or not I've rocked the bangs before...as a 1st grader...
(Thats me in the red with my posse. We're all stylin)
So yes I've reverted back to being 6.Earlier in the day I felt restless and cut little bylittle.
Roommates didn't seem to notice so I felt pretty satisfied. I looked at my beauty board on pinterest and got terrible ideas (pinterest can be dangerous).
Here's something my roommates and I have learned from this. DON'T LEAVE JOVANNA HOME ALONE. Three roommates were out of town, Chase was working all day and then Adri, Spencer and Claire went to the store and left me home alone.
For 20 minutes. With scissors.
I pulled my hair straight out and chopped. Then I held it in my hand and thought "WHAT.DID.I.JUST. DO".
I heard Claire, Spencer and Adri get home and I tried to hide my face. I turned around and claire, in the first 2 seconds, said
"Did you get your bangs cut...?"
"what..? Yeah.....maybe. BUT YOU GUYS LEFT ME HOME ALONE...WITH SCISSORS!"

Really not the best rebutal I've ever had...
Then Chase came home....and I showed him. And he liked it.
(he's kinda weird but thats ok)
Here are some reasons why cutting your own bangs is a BAD idea
#1: you will miss your hair. Seriously. It's like a bestfriend you took for granted till
        they're gone
#2: you may feel like you're 5 again.(if you've had bangs in the past) this is fun for you for about 2 minutes and then you want to go back to being an adult
#3: the bangs are uneven, and you look like a drunk donkey
#4: the "I can keep cutting" syndrome. you'll know you're in it when you feel a small rush
of excitement followed by sheer anguish and then need to cut more to fix it
#5: If you live in a very windy area like Rexburg, they will go freaking everywhere when
you're walking around outside, you can't see and now you've gone from sexy hair        blowing in the wind to lady walking around holding her forehead.
#6: everyone and their brother will mention your hair cut. whether they like it, or not.

So take it from me, don't impulsively cut your bangs on a day when you're feeling ambitious

20th Birthday

Guess who had a birthday over a month ago and really sucks at updating? Me. It's true- I'm 20 now....so old. Where has time gone?! I had an AMAZING birthday though and needed to take notice of  all the people who did so much for me.
I got a Lovely birthday package from my parents. I was so excited - I had to resist opening it all morning till I had gotten ready for the day. I got some birthday spending money too which is ALWAYS a good thing...because I love shopping:) It's still kind of weird not having a birthday with my family though
(I apologize in advance for the poor quality of the pictures.....all from the iphone)
Chase came over, he brought me flowers (people seem to be getting the jist of how much I love flowers..) He drove me to class as well ( I really enjoy not walking to class when it's cold outside...) My dad sent me flowers too! They were SO pretty.
Chase and I went in to Idaho Falls that night to eat and to shop. On the way there he gave me my present . The new Josh Groban CD, I was so excited. Then I opened the card and saw a piece of paper. I looked at it for a second and started screaming "WHAT?!". Was in total shock. He got us tickets to go to see Josh Groban at the Hollywood Bowl on fourth of July. I've been BEGGING him to take us to cali so we could go to the beach...and he made it even BETTER. Combining fireworks( another one of my favorite things ever) and Josh Grobans beautiful voice with the philharmonic. I think my boyfriend might know me well and might be perfect.
After the big day I was so tired. I went home and I had a gift from Claire, Spencer, Mikyla, Trischelle, Bryndee, Taylor and Adri. A stuffed animal of my Chico dog. Let me explain: Theres an amazing site called Shelterpups.com where you send a picture of your dog in and they handmake a stuffed animal that looks JUST like them. They collected all these pictures and gave it to me with the note that my stuffed animal would be coming. Some of you know how attached I was to my dog. He was my bestfriend and he passed away last fall. I miss him more than anything. When they handed my the board I started bawling like a baby. I am so grateful- it was an amazingly thoughtful gift I will cherish forever.
They made me cake and the rest of the night I spent eating the candy my family sent me and lounging.
The day was amazing, I was so tired. I got texts from people I love and miss very much from plano and from my family as well. I always thought it would feel different to be 20 but I guess this is it! Time to live up my twenties!

The Beauty of Disposable Cameras

Guys...I just want to tell you something. I love pictures. In case you didn't know that already...There's something about the fuzzy quality and the mystery of what the pictures will look like that has a sweet nostalgia.
What I don't like so much is that on a normal camera that I would use (a DSLR) i typically have the flash OFF. I'm not a fan of the flash, but apparently the 90's was farther away than I remembered and I forgot you need to use a flash on a disposable camera.
So these are some pictures that I love...
And then some that did not turn out so well...
Lesson learned....I could still use another camera. Apparently the love affair continues

The Day of Loooveeeee

Oh Valentine's Day...what a weird holiday you are. Companies love valentines day because they make a boatload of money, and honestly you should love the people you do everyday but in a less cynical view: it can be pretty cool. This year I got to be with my love-Chase annndd it was my parents twenty first anniversary! I Love them very much. Chase brought me flowers (my absolute FAVORITE thing in the whole world) and sour patch kids (because unlike most normal women in the world, I don't like chocolate that much. I know...sad. Don't cry) and an Infinity Necklace. He scours my pinterest for things I love. I love that about him, plus I love my new necklace. Much like other women I do actually enjoy jewelry..too much.
Classes went smoothly, I got a nap in after class (that in an of itself could have made my day) and the boys made us dinner that night!
Look at this...they dressed up AND made dinner. Wow, right? and wore aprons...not really what imagined  my dream guy wearing but turns out I enjoyed it.
They made dinner for all the roommates, and exiled us to our rooms while they set up dinner. We ALMOST starved to death. No exaggeration. Ok, maybe a LITTLE exaggeration.
They added more decorations to our balloon ceiling, and set up our "table". Dinner was SO good. needless to say, I think the boys should make dinner a lot more often...And cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. YUM.
We miss Cass Cass- She's on FIAAAHHHHH
The poor group of overly stuffed individuals
And in the end- best Valentines Day I've had thus far. I'm now becoming a lot more accepting of this holiday . Even when you don't have a "sweetheart" you have friends and family who love you, and that's more than enough to be grateful for.

Claire says "Yes to the Dress"

I have been horrible at keeping up with the blog...being on track will do that too you..but a couple weeks ago Claire and I went into Idaho Falls, to Treasure's, to look for her wedding dress. Crazy stuff huh? I felt like I should make all these comments like I hear on "say yes to the dress" but most the time I just said "that's pretty". I'm super helpful I know... But it was honestly pretty cool to see her pick a dress, and she picked THE dress! Only 4 more months till I will have to change Claire's contact name in my phone from " Claire Ross roommie" to "claire NELSON roommie"...or maybe ex roommie..but that might be too sad so I might not put the Ex in there. The following pictures are not THE dress (because Spencer her fiance' is not allowed to see the dress! shhhh!) the up close ones are little hints though;)
Excuse the fact the I felt the need to make everything black and white....the lighting was a little orange so It was buggin me. So glad I got to be there for the engagement, the dress picking and soon the Wedding!

Uprising: Paint Fight

I haven't had much to post about since winter semester started buutt this weekend we went to a paint party! Into to the color festival this year for me, it was fun. We got some clothes we didn't worry about ruining and danced for 4 hours. Through this I have learned something about myself. I'm an old lady. That's right folks..OLD LADY. I got so tired and after some of the paint, I was good to go. Although, I'm really glad we went! Lots of pictures...beware. Also here are the before and afters!

we lost some people along the way.....as in they went to McDonald's before we did...

Also, if you were wondering why we have so many balloons around the house...it was my roommie claire's 20th birthday this past week! It was my other roommie taylor's birthday on the 25th but she wasnt here :(
I stayed up late and blew up FAR too many balloons..I put them all in the bathroom so claire could see them when she woke up....then claire put them in the shower and scared the bejeebers out of me.  Ah claire....thank you.
